We had a great time at the Jewel Lake Bowling Center. A fun filled afternoon and many champions evolved this afternoon! We had 3 new Au Pairs arriving in November, and they all participated in our Au Pair Activity. A great opportunity for new Au Pairs to meet our “Happy Group of Au Pairs.” It was also time to say good bye to Yira as she will be leaving us soon,  and we all will miss her! Dinner was at the Suite 100 Restaurant and we enjoyed good food, and lots of laughter and chatting was going on.

September 30th Performing Arts Center and Dinner

We had a lovely afternoon to see the musical “Into the Woods”

All au pairs enjoyed the performance and their time together.

Dinner time at the Snow Goose Restaurant was delicious and the perfect time for all au pairs to introduce themselves. Many fun stories and anecdotes were going around the table. We had two visitors, Josefine and Madeleine were au pairs from the program 3 years ago, they joined us for dinner and told stories from their past. Everyone got a good laugh!

July 14/15 Camping and Rafting

We had perfect July weather for this adventure in the Matanuska Valley, and all Au Pairs joined.

Getting geared up for the raft, watching Yira the Chef, launching at Alex’s Thai Hotel, and dinner time at the Matanuska State Park.

Does this look like fun?

Fun at Alyeska’s Blueberry Festival!

All Au Pairs joined for an afternoon of fun on Sunday August 14th.

Dasha looks adorable with her painted face! Ning, Alex and Karen conquered the Rock Climbing Wall! We all enjoyed a ride on the chair lift to view the spectacular mountain side and the Turnagain Arm. The activities did make us hungry, and Jim Helms, offered all au pairs sausages, and hamburgers for 1/2 price, thank you for your generous offer, it tasted delicious!

But the fun did not stop yet, the au pairs car pooled into town and went to a movie, ending another great au pair activity day!

Sunday May 22nd. Great fun at Eklutna Lake kayaking and enjoying a BBQ

A perfect Alaska sunshine day  for 14 au pairs,  their LAR,  and 1 host dad with his teenage daughter,  coming to the kayaking adventure at Eklutna Lake. The weather was just perfect for this outdoor adventure, and the food was delicious.  Everyone had a lot of fun and was enjoying paddling up the Lake surrounded by the snowy peaks of the Chugach Mountains.  Afterwards we were all hungry and ready for our BBQ.

Host Dad Jay Fayette and Au Pair Alex (boy)  did most of the grilling of chicken and sausages. The potluck was a success, we had many nice salads, dips, breads, cookies and of course Jeny’s superb homemade brownies!!  Perfect timing for our two new au pairs Yira and Beliks from Panama which had just arrived on Friday and were able to meet our great group of au pairs. A nice thank you to Jeny (from Columbia)  for organizing the car pooling! Great Job all!
